Earlier this year I decided to sell my big cars. This is the last to go.
I'm asking £9, 950 which I believe to be fair, and realistic.
I'm not giving the car away, I'd rather keep it and am happy to do so.
1957 Lincoln Premier. 368 c. i. Lincoln Y-Block, with original Carter AFB Four-Barrel carb. Automatic, power steering, power brakes, power seat, power windows, crazy original air conditioning system.
Interior mostly original apart from carpet. Head lining is mint, leather seats are good, door panels are good.
Paint and chrome are presentable and reasonably tidy, Neither are 'show quality' though.
All five whitewall radial tyres are as new.
Engine & trans are both in excellent condition. New aluminium radiator, new hoses.
Drives superbly with the exception of some steering wander and occasional hesitancy from the carb. Overdue for a good service etc. The brakes are excellent. Dual exhaust is good.
Other bad stuff: Doors don't lock, I have no keys for the doors (Ignition & boot keys are present) Fuel gauge doesn't work ( I use a dipstick!) Speedo doesn't work (it's disconnected at the speedo, and try as I might, I cannot get the dratted thing back on so have given up!
Been standing a bit, I've barely used this in the last three years. The underside could do with waxoyling etc and ideally some welding to the bottom of the inner sills. This isn't structural however, the chassis being like the Forth Bridge.
The air conditioning, not suprisingly is not working. There is a huge fridge in the boot, which ducts up into the roof via perspex ducts by the rear window, the air blows down from the roof from four chrome vents, aircraft style. The system still blows air, just not cold.
I have the original radiator, aircon rad & pipes, also the original centrally pumped suspension lube system.
I have a couple of links to Youtube vids of it running, and a walk-around of the car. If you'd like to come and view, you're welcome to do so without obligation. I'm in North Staffordshire with easy access.
Links to Youtube videos of the car running etc are available.
