Description
1955 Albion FT25 Claymore Lorry Van
This Albion originally started its life as a biscuit delivery Lorry for McVities Biscuits in Edinburgh. Moving goods between the factory and the station, or to other local outlets. The back is designed to be easily lifted and removed, dropping a loaded up back on and removing the empty one to give a speedy turn around loading. In the back there is some excellent graffiti from the people who packed it back in the 50’s, lets just say they didn't hold back on poor old Bobbo!
In more recent years she was found languishing on a farm where she was rescued and rebuilt, having extensive woodwork and aluminium replacement.
In my ownership I have re-wired her, refurbished all the brakes and given her a thorough fluid flush and change. She now starts and runs as nicely as a 4litre 4cylinder diesel can.
I had plans on converting the back to a campervan/ air bnb, or perhaps a fancy burger van. But alas I have recently lost employment and this toy has to go.
She isn't perfect, but is awaiting someone to love her and take her onto the next adventure.
