When Subaru announced the Impreza Series McRae in 1995, everybody wanted to get their hands on one. With an extremely limited run of 200 the market went bonkers with demand massively outstripping supply. Featuring their rally winning 2-litre Turbo engine, 4WD and unique Recaro seats, it is the ultimate of all Subaru’s for British McRae fans, and rally enthusiasts all around the world.
Fairmont Sports and Classics were fortunate to get this incredibly rare car with only 9, 000 miles - barely believable. Number 188 of 200 this car came to us following the death of a Subaru Collector - we bought two - which remained SORN for many subsequent years and was in an excellent condition. However, this was not enough for us. With an immaculate interior we felt the few minor paint defects deserved to be addressed and the car received a full professional repaint.
The underside of the car had only minor surface rust which was addressed considerately. The gold Speedline Safari alloy wheels are unblemished, and the original tyres remain. Cambelt kit, water pump, brakes and exhaust silencer were replaced.
A one owner car with the original service and warranty book showing several early dealer stamps and some early MOT test certificates this is a truly special and collectable opportunity.
