Beschreibung

I’ve owned this car 8 years, and never thought I would be selling it! I bought it from the family of the 2nd owner who had it for 22 years. I have every bill and receipt, all the old MOTs, insurance forms, photos etc. making up over 30 years of history for the car. It has covered a genuine 93000 miles from new. It is tax exempt and MOT'd.

I have been using it everyday for the last few weeks, and it goes better and better for being used. It’s only done about 5k miles in my ownership, and probably 1k of those are in the last few weeks.
It is almost all original and unrestored, but the body is not perfect, and most panels will need some cosmetic attention. It’s rarely been driven in the wet and it was extensively waxoyled, but attention is needed if the car is going to be used daily and not deteriorate.
However, it certainly does not look rusty, and is very presentable as is.

I gently recommissioned the car when I got it, and replaced the shock absorbers & bushings, rear brake backplates, wheel cylinders, shoes, front calipers , pads & brake hoses, exhaust, water pump, tyres and too many other things since to remember- all genuine BMW parts! All the bills have been added to the history.
I have fitted later cloth seats fitted as my children complained the original vinyl was too hot/ cold, though the undamaged originals are included. The carpets are original and worn-I prefer the patina to shiny new bits for the sake of it. There are also static rear belts.
There is an 8-track player fitted, which would work if you wired it up again, (there’s a modern player in the glovebox) and the speakers are discreetly fitted into some spare panels that I had, so again the originals can be re-fitted. Original tool kit in the boot.
The car drives superbly, with no mechanical issues. If I had reason to work in that area, I would replace the timing chain which is a little noisy when warm. There is a Weber 32/ 36 carb fitted, with the period optional BMW alloy wheels, including spare-but I’m keeping the steering wheel as a souvenir!
This is an extremely reluctant sale, the car has been part of the family & my kids have grown up with it-however, it seems time for someone else to continue to care for it as time & circumstances are not on my side!
C'mon, it has to go!
