With french paperwork, and NOVA number, a very early, 1969, Willam Lambretta City, A2 model, you can tell on the outside because it has a central number plate light. Outherwise theres the chasssis plate to confirm it which. The plate also tells you that it was built buy Scatolini (more famous now for their commercial conversions) rather than more common later vehicles built by Lawil in Varzi. Being a very early model it is powered bythe more desirable 125cc 2stroke Lambro engine with a four speed sequential gearbox. It takes some getting used to. Reverse is obtained by pulling an auxilary lever which then povides you with four reverse gears, use them all if you’re brave.
Wheels are 8 inch with Lambro running gear and brakes. The battery shelf inner wing which normally rusts away has been replaced (see picture) You will need to buy a battery.
Do not expect to drive it home, it hasn’t run for at least a year because of lack of time. You are not buying on the proviso that you can get it running. You buy it to take away and fettle. It does run, I have used it on the road, a few years ago we took it to Varzi, Italy where it was made for an event. I would add that the clutch needs experience to pull away smoothly.
Size? Tiny. 205cm long, 128cm wide and 144cm tall less than 400kg
For the sucessful purchaser you will be sent the original Carte Grise (french log book) after I have registered its sale to you to the authorities with your personal details. (copy of the carte grise is with the car)
Brake were renewed before its trip to Varzi, New shock absorbers. small holes in floor, separate chassis. paintwork tired.
