the pontiac firebird formula is a special model incorporating the knight rider bonnet with the bulge, period alloys, bigger boot spoiler, manual transmission, disc brakes all round and improved suspension.
being the v8 it sounds awesome, not played with, standard throughout.
the underside has to be seen as is immaculate, no rust, no rot, immaculate brake lines, never welded and never undersealed, original equipment exhaust. Doesn't drop a spot of oil or water.
we had a full gearbox rebuild recently including new full kit of new bearings and shims, so goes into gear beautifully. At the same time we had a new clutch and flywheel (luk) so mated together it drives faultlessly. Pulls well and drives and brakes in a perfect straight line.
the shut lines on this car are also superb, all panels line up with panel gaps that are spot on.
the paint is glorious, deep and shiny and no dents bumps or scratches anywhere !
wheel arches and sills all original and superb condition.
the t-bar is a great feature and comes with original t-bar bags in the boot.
the tyres are almost new and in superb condition also. Balanced just the other day.
the original space saver wheel (with cannister) and original jack and handle are both stowed inside the boot compartment, great to have the original gear.
interior wise the dash is spot on, with no sun damage. The door cards are in great condition and were rebuilt by the previous owner. The front and rear seats are original and finished in the usual cream, a few small marks but very good for 30 years old! All these t-bars tend to leak a little and this does too, just a small amount, and only if it pours down, although no visible signs to the interior. Only comes out on nice days anyhow :-)
