A 1958 Zundapp Bella scooter, 150cc with 12 volt electric starter. This was Zundapp's answer to the demand for scooters initiated by Lambretta and Vespa. Considered a luxury model in its time and with the option of an electric start, a true rarity in it's day on any two wheeled vehicle. Very comfortable and sturdy, these scooters were built between 1953 and 1964. Now a rare collectors item and great value compared to equivalent Italian models.
Privately owned for over 10 years and dry stored in a garage, it has not run for three years and hence is offered for sale for someone to use and enjoy.
In good running order, the fuel tank and carburettor are currently cleaned and drained but the scooter has always started easily on the starter motor. Will require new batteries (2 X 6 volt) but these can be supplied if required or negotiated in the sale price.
The engine is a two stroke (premix) and runs and ticks over nicely. There is a four-speed gearbox operated by a right hand rocker pedal and the clutch is in good order. The rear brake is on the left hand floor board.
The scooter is in original condition with the Bella motif’s in place as well as the initial dealer selling emblem. Genuine items are still in place including the battery cover, running board mats and rear light (these usually get lost or broken).
Paintwork is presentable but does have some chips and scratches. There is no rusting or rot on the body work, which does occur on these models.
Ready to use and enjoy as is. The scooter could easily be brought up to concourse condition if a project is desired.
Sensible near offers considered. Viewing highly recommended.
