West Coast Classics are proud to present an absolutely stunning and & customized with no expense spared original southern California 1958 Edsel Roundup 2 Door 6 Passenger 410/ 345HP V8 Station Wagon; customized by it's owner Frank Monteleone, along with the legendary George Barris of 'Barris Kustoms', his long time friend and collaborator.
Frank Monteleone met and befriended George Barris and his brother Sam early in their career, along with Von Dutch, and was responsible for collaborating with them on several successful and ground breaking early customs, including Frank's renown 1941 & 1956 Ford's, that were to win high acclaim for the pair in the early 1950's. It is noteworthy that George and his wife Shirley actually gifted his good friend Frank #2 of his legendary 'Barrister Custom Corvettes'.
This particular example is an already very low production (924 in total built in '58) and rare 1958 Edsel Roundup 2 Door 6 Passenger Station Wagon which Frank had customized with no expense spared to his personal preference including custom 'Hot Java' paint and a newly upholstered custom matching interior. As of 1980, according to the 'Edsel International Newsletter', the car was also the only known Roundup Station Wagon to currently reside in California. Frank was only the third southern California owner of the wagon, which he had acquired over 30 years ago, along with all the original purchase documentation including the original purchase order from 'Page Lowe Mercury Edsel' of West Covina, CA.
