HERE is my 1972 Triumph GT6 which has been dry stored since 2015 when it underwent an engine rebuild at Billcar Engineering in Shrewsbury. Receipts for the work are in the history file and they total 4k. When she reached me, she had not ben run since then. However, after an afternoon's work, she now runs beautifully and sounds more like a Ferrari. Revving superbly and idling perfectly. I have since freed off the brakes - they were rebuilt at the same time - and taken her for a road test. A total joy to drive. She is the non-overdrove model which the gurus say has better acceleration than the overdrive models. It was always a factory option on GT6s. She has just five previous owners and is solid chassis-wise. In some areas - and in the boot floor - you can see the factory body colour beneath the black protective coating. So, we have a sound example with a terrific engine and 70, 000 miles on the clock. By the way, in October 2015 she failed her MoT, mainly on some corrosion around seat belt anchorages. The work to rectify this was done the following day (see receipts).
Basically it is her paintwork that lets her down but, at the same time, keeps the asking price down. There appears to be a lot of it on the car and hence there is cracking/ crazing and other such imperfections. The worst of this is along the top of the nearside rear wing. It would probably be well worth the investment to have her painted.
Well, that's about it. Check out their prices if you are not already aware of them. I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote. Thanks, Martin. the details below.
