Just arrived.
A november 85 944 turbo. Supplied new by Roger Clarke cars and with its original service book plus mot's sorn and maintenance records supporting the 49800 miles. Last owner 30 years.
It is on the button and recently had over £8000 spent by a Porsche independent, new clutch, brakes etc. What is nice is it has so many original features, the VIL labels, the bar code, the interior no speakers or phone cuts. It has the Speedline wheels of the type that RUF supplied in period.
It's rare to find one that has not done a million miles or been modified. This one in alpine white has a near-perfect interior and although it could be used 'as is' would be straightforward to bring it to the high level it deserves with a little maintenance and some paint.
With the fabulous interior in full Bordeaux pinstripe, and the exterior in alpine white, its just a perfect candidate to turn into a very special car. We looked on the DVLA site and can see just two listed as registered (one sorned) for the 1985 year.
We see no changed panels and few rust repairs, very unusual for a 944, but then, this one has largely sat in a garage for the last 30 years, only being brought out in summer when the owner visited from abroad.
The spec includes the M220 limited-slip differential, the lovely sports seats and air-con (disconnected). It is of tidy appearance, but some straightforward paint, of quality, would take it to another level.
In our view its definitely one to keep, a 911 beater, a fabulous driver, strong, great looking and this one, with the colours, the mileage and the story will do very well we expect.
