1987 manual 325i. One of the last preface lift chrome bumper models.
original uk model that was exported to japan and then brought back to the uk. Non power steering, non sun roof model.
I bought it at the start of 2020 after it had been stood for 5 years.
in the last year i have replaced the cam belt, water pump, tensioner, alternator belt, ht leads, spark plugs, oil filter, fuel filter, fuel pump, fuel pipes, fuel tank, injectors overhauled, intake boot, air filter, thermostat, aluminium radiator, electric fan with adjustable thermostat, clutch slave cylinder, inlet manifold gaskets, rocker cover gasket, tappets adjusted, new battery, headlights, led fog lights, mts shocks and 60/ 40 lowering springs, bump stops, top mounts, tie rods, drop links, rear beam bushes, brake pads, hel braided brake lines, shoe fitting kit. 5 avon tyres, dash board retrimmed. Various areas welded including rear arches, front wings replaced and the whole car repainted in original zinoberrot red.
It was mot’d in november and passed with one advisory for minor exhaust leak.
There is still some bits left to do, the blower fan is noisy, the instrument cluster wants replacing, drivers seat has wear on outer bolster, wants a new lock/ key set, the drivers electric window hasn’t worked and the passenger just quit the other day!
I was planning on keeping this and finishing off the last bits and tinkering but plans have changed.
i’ve used this as my daily car and it has been great to drive, i know i will regret selling it!
