We are very pleased to offer a super slice of the 1970s in the form of a wonderful Blaze Orange Austin Mini 1000. This is personally my favourite era of Mini production, offering the pure Mini driving experience with ten inch wheels and the centre binnacle but evolved enough to be useable on a daily basis and very easy to drive, not to mention the fantastic colours they were painted in including this head turner in Blaze.
This Mini has had a charmed life and has only covered 71k in 41 years with only 6 owners in 43 years and was lucky enough to be Ziebart wax injected form new and as such is presented in very well preserved solid condition. It is accompanied with its original passport to service book and an extensive service history folder.
On the road this Mini drives well. The 998 engine has strong oil pressure and performs well, the gearbox is also smooth and precise. The handling is fantastic and it sits on a set of Minilight wheels with virtually new 165 profile Yokohama tyres and the braking has been upgraded to Cooper S discs up front. We have just worked right through the suspension system and it has many new components and it feels tight as a drum.
This Mini has a very well presented interior with its original Steering wheel, centre binnacle and carpets, the seats have been upgraged to early nineties Cooper half leather with head rests and adjustable rake, and is also a rare interior in itself.
As mentioned this Mini was rustproofed from new and it has taken care of the shell. It seems mostly original including the front panel and wings, boot floor and floor pans. This is an unrestored survivor so has had repairs in its life but its been carried out to a good standard and mean that this Mini has many more years of motoring ahead. It has had a recent rear subframe, shocks, front and rear brakes, ball joints, steering rack, track rod ends, full engine service, tappets reset, tuned and timed and a full MOT so its ready to make you smile. It is also now MOT and Tax exempt.
