Please take a look at this stunner of a '57 Olds Super 88 Holiday Coupe with the J2 Tri-Power Setup. Everything has been done fairly recently including Paint, Interior, Engine Rebuild, Trans Rebuild, New Brake System and Suspension Components. This is a senior-owned car purchased from a museum.
This is the sort of bright red that gets everyone's attention!
EXTERIOR:
Fiesta Red with Black Spear and Tri-Color Red Interior.
Excellent Body Panel Alignment with good fit & finish. Paint is a 2-stage base/ clear with deep quality to it. There is only one small stone chip anywhere on this (and you guessed it----it's on the hood near the left headlight). Paint is stunning on this car. No signs of any rust or collision. Undercarriage is mostly original and can use detailing to be as nice as the rest of the car. All Chrome/ brightwork is present, free of damage and complete. Glass is perfect all around save for a small stone chip in windshield down low in the field of vision. All Lamps work as they should.
I'd rate the exterior of this a strong 9. 5 for quality out of 10.
INTERIOR:
Interior is a vinyl & cloth combination that was done beautifully in 2019. Headliner doesn't sag. Cloth seats are not snagged or torn or any loose seams with no bolster wear evident. Carpet is clean with no heal-pad wear. Leather dash top is not split. Steering Wheel is not cracked.
The horn ring is loose and could use adjusting (horn works fine).
No unusual odors etc. I'd rate the interior a strong 9. 5 out of 10 for quality
MECHANICALS:
Engine & Transmission both rebuilt.
Trans shifts thru all detents as it should.
Brake system gone thru and rebuilt or replaced with new.
Frt Suspension gone thru and is tight/ like new
AC Evaporator is missing from this AC example, but a perfect place to add Vintage Air plumbed properly thru the dash vents.
This car has the coveted J2 Tri-Power Setup. All 3 carbs have been professionally rebuilt, but its currently running on one carb only as the senior owner hasn't been able to get this back in the shop to install the progressive linkage. Tires are new Coker Tires all around. Engine starts easily, is very powerful, and runs well. The Wiper Blades are brand new. Engine bay looks good. There is a leaking rear main seal that requires attention (Owner hasn't been able to get this back into shop for this repair).
There is a short list of mechanical maintenance items needed that do not detract greatly from this quality or presentation etc.
Car is very powerful.
