Early 406 with the reliable and familiar 1. 9 XUD.
I've had this car a few months now and spent far too much on it. It's had a new cambelt, radiator, water pump, auxiliary belt, front tyres (Dunlop) and is about to have a new thermostat and throttle cable fitted.
I've also sourced spare rubbing strips, wing mirror and gear knob from another Ph1 car.
It drives well, comfortable seats and happy at all speeds. The interior is overall tidy, but the door card material has gone baggy, the airbag cover has lifted on the passenger side and the driver side window control outer edge has also expanded.
All electric windows work, and so does the reasonably rare sunroof.
Never been welded, amazingly. Full set of original wheel trims.
Immobiliser keypad works fine.
Starts first turn of the key.
Probably due to increase in value in the near future as the 405 turbo diesels have gone skywards pricing wise, but isn't being money obsessed boring?
There is of course some negatives, it's an old Peugeot of course.
Lacquer lifting on door handles.
Rear drop links will need replacing.
Could do with some OEM mats.
Annoying little dents on the bodywork, as well as a bigger one on a door.
Previous owner did an atrocious job paint 'matching' a wing mirror.
Screen wash smells off, I'll try and put some new stuff in it.
Rear of sills would benefit from a light rust treatment. Not rusty per se but orangy.
I've spent around £1k on this car on top of what I bought it for, which was dumb but that's life.
I won't get that back obviously.
Car is ready to go when the bits mentioned above are fitted.

Reason for sale is complete and utter lack of motivation with the car. I also am a bit sore I've spent so much on it and don't feel as if I'm happy about it. The car is a nice drive but I'd have been happier spending what I did on my Alfa.
I would be open to a swap but only for an Alfa 156, 147 or an early Fiat Tipo. I don't expect a show winning minter but likewise i would expect something with up to date history and not full of rust holes. Or maybe even an RN spec MK1 Laguna.
