A lovely example of Britain's finest engineering this Rover 60 is in outstanding order throughout. THe paintwork is like glass, with an impressive deep gloss shine. The bumpers and chromework in general are excellent, all the wheel arches are sharp and corrosiion-free, as are the sills and bottoms of the doors - there is nothing to spoil the car's imposing appearance.
The leather interior is still original yet marvellously well preserved. The carpets and roof lining are well-nigh impeccable, but what most impresses us about the car's interior is the abundance of fantastically well-preserved wood throughout. It really gives the car a stately feel. That's helped by the robust 2. 3-litre 4-cylinder powerhouse sitting proudly in a spotless engine bay. In its day that engine would have been one of the most desirable on the market. It still runs evenly and with plenty of power.
The 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive delivers crisp and smooth gearchanges. The entire drivechain of the car is in first-rate order. The car has just had a brand new servo and master cylinder fitted as part of a comprehensive service. Everything now feels solid and well-built, as it should in a car like this. The odometercurrently displays 60, 000 miles which we are quite confident is genuine.
There's no chance of holding up the traffic in this Rover, unless it's people stopping and admiring it! Ride quality is second to none - this is a truly fabulous example of an early 1960s limousine. The car is accompanied by two massive folders of paperwork detailing the considerable expense previous owners have gone to, in order to maintain the car in this kind of condition.
