At Peter Vardy Heritage we are delighted to offer this Vauxhall DX 14/ 6 from our collection. The vehicle was first registered on 2nd July 1937 and when new cost the Princely sum of £215.
It is powered by a 1781cc 6-cylinder engine producing 14hp which powers the car from standstill to 50mph in 20 seconds.
The De-Lux model offered such features as, body conformity front seats, side arm rests to rear seat, door pockets, roof light, front and rear bumpers, spare wheel compartment, no-draught ventilation, pytchley sliding roof and chromium plated headlamps.
The car is showing 3 owners from new the first owner, a businessman, purchased the car from new in 1937 and kept the car until his death aged 96 in 2012, he had used the car very sparingly and was put into storage in the early sixties for about 30 years before it was re-commissioned, the owner then fell ill and the car was once again put into storage again. After his death the car was purchased by a neighbour who only kept the car a very short time. The car is showing less than 10, 000 miles which is reputed to be correct.
Unfortunately, after his death his wife cleared out a lot of his papers which included some documentation for the car.
The car is priced at a very reasonable £8, 000 and this makes it a very affordable entry into the Heritage car market. 30+ images available on our website.
