We are pleased to offer this early Ford Model A Roadster which is in excellent condition and ready to drive.
A US built car with 3. 3 litre engine, the Model A is fitted with a Mitchell overdrive unit which operates on all three gears and offers considerably enhanced cruising ability.
Recently imported to the UK from Arizona the Model A presents extremely well in green over black with contrasting green wheels.
The electrics are still 6 volt but an alternator has been fitted. Other sensible modifications are a battery isolator switch, direction indicators and an additional fuel tap in the engine bay.
We have just overhauled the ignition system fitting a new coil, condenser, points and switch.
The upholstery is in very good order as is the hood. There is a matching hood bag for use when the hood is folded down.
The brightwork is in excellent condition and the Lucas tyres are virtually new.
The engine starts easily with the throttle and advance/ retard correctly set. On the road the Model A performs well with very good steering and brakes. The clutch and gearbox work nicely too.
Known for their torque, a Model A will motor along very happily once in top gear and this car is no exception.
With excellent parts availability and support from the Model A Ford Club of Great Britain the Model A is a very sensible introduction to Vintage motoring. This example is ready to use and would grace any classic car show too.
