First registered on 11 November 1935, this particular PA is a late matching numbers example retaining its original registration number, YS 4533. Chassis 2135 of 2250, it is among the last built. It is fitted with an external oil filter and external water pump, both pieces being non standard equipment. The car has had 8 known owners with images on file of the car being competed with in the 1940s. It has also featured in episodes of Foyles War and Marple!
The current owner purchased the car in 2004 when it was fresh from a complete chassis up restoration. Being acquired in mechanically and structurally fine order, the car has been put to good use in its current ownership including road tours across the UK and Europe and attending almost every Kop Hill Climb since 2004 with an invite to this year's event as well. 17 years later, the car still presents very well and is a joy to drive. The interior and Collingbourne leather are in excellent condition without cracks. The car comes with a full tonneau, hood and aero screens for windscreen down driving. The side screens are not present. Recent works carried out on the car include a cylinder head overhaul and porting with a copper head gasket fitted, fitting of a high torque starter motor and Bosch distributor.
The car comes with a large file of past correspondence and invoices.
A highly usable prewar car, it's 847cc engine and small size small make it a blast on back roads with a large luggage rack able to accommodate longer, overnight journeys.
