Hand built steel & aluminium coachwork, Triplex "Sundym" glass, Rolls Royce stainless steel wheel trims with colour coded bands, electric windows, central locking, electrically adjustable seats, power steering, centre console, front & rear armrests, Kienzle clock, highly polished burr walnut veneers, period Lucas stereo & 8 Track player, rear vanity mirrors, map lights, 12v power sockets with cigar lighters, ash trays, & all of the usual period Rolls Royce refinements
EXTERIOR:
Finished in the stunning Rolls Royce Ivory with contrasting Tan vinyl roof
The coachwork presents in a wonderful & incredibly well preserved condition throughout. The current keeper of fourty four years has always kept his collectable Rolls Royce & Bentley motor cars tucked away in the motorhouse. Clearly this, coupled with regular polishing & limited to dry useage only, has kept this beautiful Silver Shadow in the order you see today
INTERIOR:
Optioned with Tan 'VM. 846' leather upholstery, Black top & knee roll.
The whole interior remains in an exceptional original condition. The leather is soft & supple & displaying a charming warm patina throughout. Garage storage since new has protected the cabin materials from the ravages of UV exposure. The highly polished Burr Walnut veneers remain in an original & stunning condition with no restoration work carried out! The cabin is indeed a very fine space to enjoy
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION:
Built with the traditional Rolls Royce 6230cc V8 engine coupled to the far superior three speed automatic transmission producing an "adequate" BHP figure. During Mr Allen's ownership & despite being sparingly used, the Silver Shadow has always received regular & major maintainence conducted as per the manufactures schedules. Today 'SRH5379' starts with ease & drives exceptionally well.
HISTORY FILE:
Supplied new on 9th Februrary 1969 via 'Wadhams LTD Southsea' Rolls Royce Main Dealership to a Mr Rogers in Fareham, Hampshire. Ownership then passed onto a Fareham based company, 'AG & LM Smith LTD' in Feburary 1969.
Chassis 'SRH 5379' was then purchased in 1977 by Mr Colin Allen, a classic car enthusiast & local garage owner. During his 44 year tenure, she has certainly been cossetted & has simply wanted for nothing. After amassing a wide collection of (then) contempary & vintage RR & Bentley motor cars, this remained in the collection for the longest period & was indeed his final motor car before driving retirement several years ago.
Accompanying this Silver Shadow is a history file that includes road tax discs dating back to 1979, service booklet with stamped entries, owners handbook & document wallet, previous MoT test certificates, Radiomobile radio operating instructions, Rolls Royce & Bentley sales & serivce guide
