EXTERIOR
The gleaming special order Velvet Blue paint looks sublime paired with those 19-inch polished-face wheels. The Individual paintwork presents in truly excellent condition throughout with a rich purple hue and sharp metallic flake on closer inspection; quite remarkably it remains 100% original having never required any cosmetic repairs. The lustrous bodywork is free from any car park dents or scrapes, the only real negatives to report being one small scratch on the bonnet and a dusting of light frontal stone chips commensurate with the mileage. The car is arrow-straight along both sides, all the trims still look really fresh, and the electric folding soft-top is pristine. All in all, a particularly fine example of the fast-appreciating E46 M3 in a rare and desirable colour.
INTERIOR
The black Nappa leather remains in wonderful order. The upholstery boasts a great factory texture and feel, with no shininess or signs of major wear to note. The driver’s bolster is damage-free and the central armrest is like new; the rear seats also appear to have seen little use. Other commonly worn areas such as the satnav screen, console switchgear, and plastic trims all present amazingly well with no heavy marking. At the rear of the car you’ll find a pristine boot area housing the tool kit and wind deflector with storage case.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
This gorgeous example has driven only 65k miles from new. Its S54 engine is an iconic six-cylinder powerplant with an intoxicating rasp at higher revs, and in this car its paired with the highly sought-after six-speed manual gearbox.
Clearly a cherished example from new, the M3 is accompanied by an excellent service history with 13 stamps in the book. The last service was carried out in July 2020 little over 1, 200 miles ago. The service book is fully stamped at close mileage intervals and the Vanos unit was fully rebuilt in 2019.
WHEELS, TYRES AND BRAKES
The forged 19-inch rims are all unmarked, their polished faces unblemished by any curb marking or lacquer damage. They are wrapped in premium Continental tyres all round, each with plenty of tread left. The brakes have also been checked and remain in fine operational condition, effortlessly bringing the car to a halt quickly and in a straight line.
HISTORY FILE
This beautifully presented and highly original Individual M3 was first registered in November 2001. It has now driven just 65k miles in the hands of only 3 registered keepers, the current since 2016. The paperwork is accompanied by the original BMW document pack, owner’s manuals, and fully stamped maintenance booklet with 13 entries, as detailed below. The last service was carried out at 64k miles in July 2020. The car also benefits from having had the Vanos unit fully rebuilt in 2019 by German car specialist, CPC Auto Services.
