Description
1965 IMPERIAL CROWN (CHRYSLER)
FULLY UK REGISTERED
4 door hardtop. Metallic silver with white leather interior. 413ci V8 engine. Automatic. Electric windows. Genuine California Black Plate car with one owner from new until the owner’s death in 2013. This car lived its whole life on Bethel Island, California, (a luxury marina island), and can be seen on all Google earth and historic aerial photos at every address the owner lived at. Showing less than 63000 miles and believed to be genuine. Just brought out of storage. Arrived in the UK in good usable order. It had new suspension throughout, new front end bushes kit fitted to steering, suspension and mounts. Full stainless steel exhaust, new battery and a new set of tyres. Then it sailed through its MOT with no problems. Was bought to be the basis for a Green Hornet Black Beauty build, but work and life got in the way. The car’s history is too good to ruin by customising it anyway. This car is as well built as any Rolls or Mercedes of its time.
The good bits:
Bodywork is very sound, with no deterioration underneath.
Electronic ignition fitted for good starting.
Interior is original and untouched with no tears.
Engine unmodified and original.
Glass in great condition.
Detailed history, with tickets and receipts.
One owner, California car.
Low mileage.
Tyres have done less than 500 miles.
Stainless steel exhaust.
Battery was new 4 years ago.
New moog etc components to front end bushes kit.
Leaf springs refurbished and fitted to rear.
No rot and a rock solid structure / body.
Changes gear and drives smoothly.
The less good bits:
Paint and interior have both weathered in the California sun. Faded but still usable.
Some paintwork deterioration in patches on the sides of the car.
Plastic interior door B post trims have cracked, (commonest fault), but new and perfect ones come with the car.
Car overheated when driven out of storage.
Will need checking over and recommissioning.
