UK registered road legal Trabant Comi (estate).
This is one of the last made being four months before production stopped and has the license built factory fitted VW polo 1. 1 four stroke engine. This means it has the character of the long running older cars with the reliability of a VW!
I have owned the car for six years and imported it from Hungry from the original owner so the low 72000km is correct (about 44000 miles). It has only recently been UK registered and reluctantly offered for sale.
Lots of work has been carried out including some welding to ensure it is structurally sound and is very solid. Other work included new brake pipes, flexi hoses, shoes and cylinders, new exhaust, plugs, leads and distributor cap.
It has MOT until 12 September 2023 and had two new front tyres for previous MOT.
It’s not the prettiest thing but has a certain something that will get you noticed. I like it’s worn appearance but it could be transformed with a coat of paint and a set of seat covers to resemble the much higher priced examples out there but you cannot create patina like this as they are only original once!
