Description
During the 60's, the French presidential fleet was becoming old-fashioned. The Citroen DS used by presidents Kennedy and de Gaulle was slow and outdated design wise
The newly elected President Pompidou wished to have a state of the art, fast and exciting official car. And to have it on time for Queen Elisabeth state visit!
The famous Chapron workshop was untrusted in studying and building two SM, 4 door, LWB, open ceremony cars
These 2 cars survived and belong to the french state. They will not come for sale. So a prominent collector asked Chapron the blueprints, jigs, and a Chapron body number, to build a 3rd car
An extremely competent workshop duplicated the very specific Chapron body, refined upholstery, and complex soft top, with great attention to detail
The collector who had this car completed, detailled and serviced wishes today to sell it
Very detailled picture file, description and price on resquest
Thank you very much for your attention
