DESCRIPTION:
I bought the car as part of a pair from an older guy who has owned it for the last 16 years but as seen by the MOT history, has used it very infrequently of late!
The car was stood in his barn the last two years and he finally decided to clear the decks this year.
I checked the fluids and put a battery on it and it fired straight up on the first try. Ive since checked the brakes (which seem nearly new) and fluids and taken it for an MOT which it flew through.
The car has almost no rust at all and NONE at all underneath. Its never been welded and is super super solid. The guys at the MOT station could barely believe it as its rare to see a car this age with original cills etc.
What tiny bits of rust there are are at the bottom of the rear window on the hatch, and at the bottom of the rear side windows (spots less than a 5p piece).
Bodywork wise, the paint is really nice. I think it has been blown over in the past, but its a really nice job, no overspray all over things etc. Its really straight down the sides and I can't see any areas of filler or bad prep.
The car runs and drives really nicely. The engine sounds sweet as a nut and it stops nicely too. It has an immobiliser which is still wired up and working.
All the lights work, the heater works.
This really is a very very nice example of a 1980s sports car which is really going up in value.
BAD PARTS:
The small bits of rust (pictured) on the hatch as mentioned previously.
Boost gauge isn't working but turbo is spooling.
The front seats have had a retrim which isn't the best. I'd want to get them redone to make the car perfect.
No real history bar knowing the same owner had it for the last 16 years.
Im after £12, 000 ONO
I'm willing to take sensible offers. It can be hard to price things and I've gone between some that are immaculate and lots more money, and others that are non turbo or need tons of work.
