Good bits:
Very clean and no rust to speak of. Bodywork is rust free and very few stone chips. Two small rust spots on the rear arches when I bought the car were sorted by the seller and he also did the rear bumper - the colour match is very good an you can't tell they've been done. Rear springs have a slight bit of surface rust but should have many years left.
New STI Group N gearbox mount and new gear linkage bushings fitted last year - you won't find a better manual gear change I reckon. Virtually no slack on the gear change and it doesn't dive under braking which will happen with an aging gearbox mount
Aluminium engine pitch stop mount
I've replaced the tweeters with new Hertz Dieci DT-24. 3 with crossovers, and there's also an amp under the passenger seat for the front speakers. OEM stereo with tape deck. I've got a Parrot hands free kit which I removed as it was badly fitted but could be easily reinstated behind thee head unit. The microphone is still in place behind the trim panels.
"Longlife" stainless steel exhaust
Rubber boot protector installed so the carpet is pristine. Space saver spare wheel and organiser are under the boot.
Two original one button keys - one has stopped working the remote alarm so I got a Sigma ac110 remote and paired it to the car.
I replaced the aircon fan which had got really noisy.
Bad bits:
Small scuff on the nearside door and the wing mirror indicator has a small crack where someone scuffed it in a car park (see photos)
It has an occasional slight hesitation around 3500rpm and then pulls strongly to the red line. I had the spark plugs changed at the most recent service, so it's either the banjo bolt filter is blocked (a common problem on Subarus), the AVCS solenoid or a coil pack. All of which are relatively inexpensive.
Front bumper is slightly scuffed on one corner.
The air con pulley / belt rattles a bit but the air con works fine so just needs adjusting by someone who knows how.
Wheels have the usual kerb marks for an old car
It's on 144k miles but I'm using it occasionally so will go up a little but not much.
Full dealer history in the Subaru book to around 90k and then I have a pdf from an indie dealer with history from then on. Mostly user error (flat battery etc) and mileage related consumables like drop link bushings and discs/ pads. Sigma alarm master code present and correct in the book.
The big items that have been replaced:
Clutch and flywheel at 91k (10/ 2012)
Front brake discs and calipers at 100k (07/ 2014)
Rear brake discs and calipers at 115k (09/ 2015)
Front pads at 121k (04/ 2017)
Clutch again at 128k (06/ 2018) also rear brake pipes and coolant pipes
Spark plugs at 143k (09/ 2021)
It passed its MOT September 2021 - ARB bushings replaced, plus an engine and transmission oil change and new plugs.
Being 2005, it's in the lower tax bracket for 3. 0R Spec. Bs (£330 this year). It's also ULEZ compliant if you're in the London area.
Looking for £3995. Car is located in SW London.
