Here we have a mazda bongo available for sale from ourselves, this particular example is the 2. 5 turbo diesel automatic model with four wheel drive and the all important pop top roof which is in good working order. The vehicle arrived on these shores in 2012 and has had 3 previous owners in that time. The current keeper has owned the bongo since early 2020, only an upgrade to a bigger coach built camper van necessitated the sale to ourselves.
service history wise we have a folder containing parts replacement invoices, servicing bills and previous mot certificates. Works carried out over the years include: New steering column joint, new exhuast, rear anti roll bar bushes, new radiator, frontanti roll bar bushes, front drop links, bonnet stay, cup holder, tailgate mirror etc. In october 2020 the mazda had the cylinder head machined, new head set, new head bolts and a new cam belt kit. She was also fully wax oiled underside. The last full service was carried out at 109, 000 miles which included fresh oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, engine flush and wiper blades. The current keeper, a retired gentleman, liked to look after his cars and this was certainly no exception.
this shows in the way the bongo drives, she is rather responsive for a 2. 5 turbo diesel, goes really well without undue smoke or fuss, the gearbox change up and down the gears is slick, great road manners and feel to the steering too. Suffice to say she starts, idles, accelerates, handles and brakes all as you would hope for an older vehicle, and possibly better.
the rear of the mazda has been fitted with a camping pod which features a single burner hob powered by a gas cartridge, a flat work space and storage compartments underneath. The camping pod is fairly easy to remove should you wish to fit the original seat back in place, which we have and will go wit. The vehicle. The pop top is in good working order and features a 'sky light' and an additional reading light.
the interior is in fine fettle, no rips or tears to the upholstery headlining, carpets, or trim. Everything on board works as it should, the heaters blow hot and cold front and rear, the air conditioning kicks in and out like it should, all the windows and electric blinds go up and down, and the all important pop top roof operates on the button.
the bodywork is in fair condition for its years, but not new of course. The vehicle is 24 years old and as such has a few imperfections. There is a dent in the tailgate, a small crease in the front wing and some minor corrosion spots on the rear arches. We cant make them perfect, but for a vehicle of this age i feel she is in very good order. More than happy to send prospective purchasers who are further afield extra photo's and a video walkaround. More over, the bongo is solid underside, any rust has been taken care of previously and has been properly wax oiled to protect it. The bongo flew through its recent mot with no advisories for corrosion.
