Honda Prelude 2. 2 SiR VTEC BB4 Lightweight JDM.
Just serviced with cambelt & water pump.
9 Months MOT - flew through last one
No sunroof, abs or 4ws which saves weight (hence Lightweight) and avoids the common problems that come with those parts.
Rare, only 47 licenced manual Preludes left on road, most of which are UK models.
Full 200bhp being JDM model. This is almost like a Type R version. Comes with JDM goodies like coin holder, prelude mats & wind deflectors (not fitted), also has an original Honda boot organiser.
Mechanically sound, especially after recent cambelt service, needs new ball joint (have the part) and wheel bearing. Vtec kicks in like it should. Has injen intake, Sachs & Scorpion exhaust and Accord Type R LSD, clutch & shorter shift gearbox. Has original cat which is worth hundreds alone! Interior is spot on and the awesome dash (which is the masterpiece) works as it should. Paintwork has age related marks, some lacquer peel on roof, some poor attempts to touch up and alloys could do with a refurb. Never bothered me, always preferred reliability over cosmetics. Vtec kicks in as it should, exhaust & intake sound good on vtec.
Imported in 2001 on 39000 miles and has stuck on that mileage since, unsure of exact mileage, but always done work based on age rather than mileage. Full MOT history & part service history. Arches bubbling a little, never had a 90s Honda that doesn't, cills and arches are strong and never an MOT advisory on rust unlike others out there.
HPI clear. Run exclusively on Super unleaded. Always warmed up before use and before vtec. Considered a classic so cheap to insure & tax reasonable too. Also at age where can be imported to USA which increases their desirability. Rare car, appreciating in value. Open to sensible offers.
