An incredibly rare LJ GTR XU-1 'homologation special' from long-term UK ownership.

Believed to be one of the first 200 XU-1s built in early '72 for recognition of the model for motorsport competition/ series production racing with eyes focussed on the forthcoming Bathurst 500
Powered by a 3310cc straight-six offering 190bhp @ 5600rpm (correct 'JP' prefix engine number)
#ALJ00456B was first registered to Grahame Ward of Pymble on 24/ 04/ 1972
The owner/ service guide shows 1 service stamp at 3, 662 miles which was carried out in Australia
Imported to the UK in 1976 at 22, 640 miles. 1st MOT by Alpina at 23, 653 miles. The current mileage is 50, 757
In storage and unused until purchased by our vendor in early 1979 and UK registered on 1/ 03/ 1979
Last used on the road in December 1982 although it has received further attention since (see Condition Report)
The car has had an asbestos survey and given the “all clear” should it be exported to Australia
Supplied with a Copy of the original registration, original GM Warranty Certificate, Holden valuation for Customs Import, Alpina correspondence, UK Customs and Excise clearance, LJ Series Owners Manual - Owners Guide - Parts Catalogue, UK V5C, MOTs '77-'83 and the Asbestos Survey and Certificate of Conformity
All three important identity tags are still in place
Mainly original factory coat of 'Strike me Pink', the car is in mixed condition (see Report), however, realistically needs restoration
As one of the 200 cars with an early 1972 compliance build date, this is a rare car, certainly the only one in the UK and possibly in Europe. With all its original paperwork, lots of history and one UK owner for 42 years this is an important part of Torana history
NB. Following Peter Brock's remarkable win at the 1972 Hardie-Ferodo Bathurst 500 on the 1st of October, the factory produced 150 'Bathurst' commemoration XU-1 models in late 1972. Our Pink car pre-dates those.
