Just finished build and with MOT. The bike has been transformed into a beautiful & authentic looking Café Racer through the following work:
Fitment of 2007 Yamaha R1 front forks, wheel brakes and bars
Forks have had 2” extensions fitted to the top tubes to deliver a good steering set up, essential to obtain the correct geometry, very rare to see this as most builders don't bother with this expensive modification. As a result the bike handles predictably and very well.
The rear of the frame has been heavily & professionally modified to provide the sports seat mount, electrical component locations, space frame look and the classic café Racer horizontal line
Hand made stainless 2 into one exhaust which isn’t too loud but you know its running!
Lightweight rearsets and sports seat
All bearings replaced with top quality races
Underslung battery box to give the space frame look (new battery)
Koso electronic dash fitted
Small good looking indicators are fitted as its just crazy to ride without them in my opinion
Bar end mirrors are fitted to the bike but not shown in the pictures
All electrical components are correctly located in suitably hidden locations with no butchering of the fully refurbished loom for reliability
Every part has had its surface finish fully reworked & restored as can be seen in the pictures, including a bare metal restoration of the tank, and the starter motor reconditioned
This is a unique bike built by a highly competent Aerospace Engineer to exacting standards, not your usual bodged together terrible handling café racer job you usually see.
The motor is mechanically silent and fully serviced. The XV750 is the best engine in the Virago range as its torquey yet responsive.
