For sale is this lovely modern classic Saab 9-5 SE Turbo Automatic.
I have known this car since it was brand new. It was originally pre-registered by Sutton Park Saab in Maidstone, Kent and then purchased from them as a delivery-mileage car by my grandparents in 1999. It was their 'special occasion' car which they cherished until 2010 by which point it had covered around 50, 000 miles. It was then sold to my uncle who kept it until 2020. By this point, it was in need of some minor mechanical attention which is when I took it on as a light project to carry the work out. The biggest job was to repair the power steering leak which involved fitting a new power steering pipe kit sourced from Neo Brothers. Additional work then included fitting new heavy duty front drop links, a new rear exhaust silencer, a new battery and a major service including engine oil + filter, spark plugs, cabin filter, fuel filter and air filter (using a service kit from Neo Brothers). This was all carried out at 123, 000 miles. In May 2021, and in a true full circle, I then ended up selling it back to my grandparents who had originally bought it new and they have owned it since! During this time, additional work has been carried out including a new front wheel bearing and two new Avon tyres. While they have enjoyed being reunited with their much-loved Saab, it is unfortunately a little too big for their needs and they've now replaced it with a much smaller car.
The Saab has now covered 128, 000 miles and it has just sailed through its MOT (expires April 2023). The bodywork and interior are showing signs of age and there are a few defects as you might expect with a 23 year old car, but overall it's a really solid, original and honest example. With all the work it has had carried out recently, it is in very good order mechanically and drives superbly. The Saab comes with the original book pack including the service record which shows 13 service stamps (last service carried out by myself at 123, 000 miles).
This is a very nice specification car, in a classic metallic green with cream leather interior and wood trim. Specification includes alloy wheels, front and rear electric windows, air conditioning and climate control, cruise control, ABS, radio/ CD/ cassette player, trip computer, front fog lights, spare key, remote central locking, electric mirrors, steering wheel buttons and a temporary spare wheel.
Now on the open market for the first time in its life, it's looking for a new home, ideally with someone enthusiastic about these beautifully made old Saabs.
