Equipment
Late 2009 E91 335i LCI (N54) Touring, finished in Le Mans blue metallic with black leather interior. Currently showing just over 101k miles.
I am not 100% sure on the exact standard spec before options, but I have listed most of the options/ spec of note:
Electric folding wing mirrors
Front and rear parking sensors
Sun protection glass
Gloss black shadow line exterior trim/ window surrounds
Tow bar – never fitted in my ownership, it looks like it has seen very little use!
Professional navigation with hard drive storage
Loudspeaker system - BMW Advanced
DAB Radio
Black Dakota Leather Interior
Automatic Gearbox
Exterior
Finished in Le Mans blue, overall the exterior is in very good condition. There are a few small marks present, commensurate with the age and mileage. There are a few stone chips and the odd mark visible on the front bumper, there is a small car parking door mark on the NSR arch, but otherwise this it is a very clean honest example. To the best of my knowledge the paintwork appears to be largely factory original. I’ve tried to be as honest as possible, as you will see from the photos it presents very well.
The only external change is the genuine BMW performance black bumper grills, I have receipt to show these are genuine and were fitted by a previous owner. I also have a set of standard silver grills if the purchaser would like these as well.
Interior
The interior presents well and is finished in the optional black leather with contrasting silver stitching. The seats still have a nice ‘Matt’ finish to them. The interior console, dash and door trim is silver hex design. Overall the interior is in good order, there is some minimal wear and minor marks, but to my knowledge everything works as it should do. The boot has a plastic load liner in it. The Air Con has recently been re-gassed.
Wheels & Tyres
The car is fitted with the factory staggered style 193 wheels. These haven been refurbished in OEM ferric grey. The wheels do have some marks, but on the whole they present well.
The tyres are the correct staggered sizes and the fronts are a pair of nearly new Michelin PS4’s, fitted in Jan 2022. The rears are Pirellis and have approx. 5. 5mm of even tread remaining. All the tyres are non-run flats.
Engine & Transmission
The car is fitted with the N54 engine and ZF automatic gearbox. I understand the N54 was only available in the LCI E91 for approx. 1 year before it was replaced by the N55, which makes it quite a rare car. I have continued to keep on top of maintenance during my ownership, which is summarised below. The blower motor and battery cable re-calls were completed in January 2022 by my local BMW Dealer.
History & Maintenance
Supplied new on 30th November 2009 by Broad Oak BMW. It was then sold by Chandlers BMW as an approved used car in 2012. In 2015 it was sold to the third owner by David Brown Cars, a specialist prestige dealer in Surrey. The previous keeper purchased it privately in 2018 from the 3rd keeper and they sold it to me as they no longer required two cars, the low miles between the most recent MOT’s supported this. I acquired the car as I had sold my F31 Alpina and I needed an interim replacement due to the long lead time on my new vehicle being built and delivered.
MOT History
The MOT history all checks out online, the current MOT runs until 31st October 2022. The last MOT was completed at 98, 575 miles, only 2. 5k miles ago, the only advisory was a child seat fitted to the car.
Service History
The car has a very good service history, a mixture of BMW main dealer and specialist, it was inspected recently by my trusted specialist who completed the recent works set out below. I have numerous invoices and receipts for work to support the service stamps in the book. I understand the car was also under BMW extended warranty until approx. 2018.
The service history is as follows:
03/ 2011 – 14k miles – Engine Oil & Micro filter – BMW Dealer
05/ 2011 - 16k miles – Rear Brakes – BMW Dealer
11/ 2011 - 22k miles - Brake fluid – BMW Dealer
09/ 2012 – 32k miles – Engine Oil, Micro filter, Air Filter & Spark Plugs – BMW Dealer
01/ 2013 – 37k miles – Vehicle Check – BMW Dealer
11/ 2013 – 50k miles - Engine Oil, Micro filter, Air Filter, Rear Brakes & Brake Fluid – BMW Dealer
05/ 2015 - 68k miles – Engine Oil, Micro filter, Air Filter, Spark Plugs, Brake Fluid & Vehicle Check – BMW Dealer
04/ 2016 – 75k miles – Rear brakes - BMW Specialist
05/ 2017 – 82k miles - Engine Oil & Micro filter & Brake Fluid – BMW Dealer
07/ 2019 – 91k miles – Engine Oil & Micro filter - Specialist
08/ 2020 – 96k miles - Engine Oil & Micro filter - Specialist
01/ 2022 – 99k miles – Brake Fluid - BMW Specialist
02/ 2022 – 100k miles - Spark Plugs - BMW Specialist
The next service is an oil and micro filter service due 09/ 2022. I don’t drive it heavily and the discs and pads are genuine BMW, they look to have a very good amount of life left in them, I estimate they have covered approx. 25k miles. A recent BMW health check suggested the front pads have 10mm remaining and the rears have approx. 9mm remaining.
Additional Work
Prior to my ownership the car has had a new rocker cover as the previous one had cracked, the tailgate wiring fixed and a new FRM module. The thermostat and water pump were also replaced at BMW at approx. 75k miles. There are invoices to support this work. These are all very common E91/ N54 issues.
In addition the following work has been completed during my ownership:
Brake Fluid change and spark plugs.
New Exide OEM spec battery, in the correct size, this was coded to the car by a BMW Specialist.
Air Conditioning Service/ Re-gas.
New OEM quality boot struts, genuine BMW wiper blades & fuel cap cord
New OEM quality headlight washer jets as the old ones failed and did not quite sit flush with the bumper
Oil filer housing gasket replaced along with the vanos o rings seals, to cure an oil leak.
Finally I have had 6x new index 12 injectors fitted, the car was on the original index 7 injectors. I was getting an occasional lumpy cold start and it was diagnosed as two failing injectors. The recommendation is to replace all 6 when they are below index 10 and not to mix them. I am not one to cut corners with maintenance, so I opted for 6x genuine BMW injectors (these come with a two year BMW parts warranty), the injectors cost £210 each and that’s with some discount and didn’t include fitting/ coding or the new spark plugs!
Summary
Initially I am going to be pretty firm on price as I know well maintained E91 335i LCI models are quite sought after. This one has also had lots of recent work and numerous N54/ E91 issues addressed. I am in no great rush to sell and will continue to use is it when the new car arrives.
I have the V5 in my name, the car is HPI and finance clear and I also have both remote keys and book pack/ service book. Test drives will require proof of fully comp insurance, but I am more than happy to take you for a decent test drive. Sorry but no group viewings.
I am located in North Wiltshire close to J15 of M4 motorway.
Please feel free to ask me any questions.
Many thanks.
