1967 VW Beetle 1500
A very good example of one of the best year bugs ever made.
1967 1500’s had a great combination of early style looks (Small bumpers / sloping headlamps) and some of the better later mechanical parts which make them great drivers.
That’s why the 1967 model is one of the most favoured years.
This one was imported from Sweden back in 2010.
From the factory it came with:
Disc Brakes
12 Volt electrics (A factory option as stock euro 67’s were 6 Volt)
1500 motor.
Eberspacher petrol heater.
Lotus white with Red interior.
Steering lock.
Emergency flashers. (An option on 67’s)
I have the birth certificate.
Body work is in amazing solid condition. Still showing lots of original paint. No rust at all. I’ve recently removed all the underseal under the wings and floor pans. Revealing lots of mint original paint. The pans are in great condition, I just cleaned them up and painted them with Por 15 / chassis black. All the panels are in very good condition. Paint isn’t perfect. Best described as very good. It’s never been restored, just well looked after. Tons of original parts.
I could only see any evidence of welding on a small area on the pan in the battery tray area. And a small repair to the drivers side inner wing. Both repaired nicely with no signs of new rust.
Interior is in great shape. Original door cards and headliner. Original seats are a bit worn. I couldn't face ditching them and they needed protection so have fitted some TMI covers.
Square weave carpet with correct style Wolfsburg West rubber overmats.
12V FM radio. Works great.
New Wolfsburg West running boards with correct beige matting.
New Wolfsburg West beading in correct beige colour.
Cibe Lights/ Hella indicator and rear lights.
VW glass all round except the front screen.
Refurbished Jack.
Mechanically all seems in order. With the 1500 motor and gearing it will keep up with modern traffic. Brakes are sharp. She drives great.
I’ve serviced it in last few months:
OIl / Plugs / Valves / Timing.
In 2021 had new discs and pads. Lots of previous service receipts.
Only mechanical issues: There is a small oil leak. I think it’s from the cooler seals but not certain. Few drops on shut down. And the synchro on 1st is worn, so to shift from 2nd to 1st you need to be almost at a standstill otherwise it grinds a little. Neither are a big issue to me. Next time the motor is out these could be addressed.
Basically it’s been well looked after unmolested stock 67 bug.
I have a fair amount of history from 2010 onwards.

I’m a long term VW aircooled enthusiast. Selling as I no longer can keep it tucked away at my work unit. And I’ve already got a 66 bug and a 71 Karmann Ghia so I need to thin down the collection.

Mileage shows 32k miles. I doubt this is accurate as it’s a MPH speedo so not the original. I expect this was changed upon import to the UK.
