Vw T25 1985 Devon Moonraker for sale.
We bought this Devon last summer and had some adventures around the west coast of Scotland. When we bought the van it had just undergone an extensive restoration and a full etch primed top coat respray on the outside. The underneath has good sills and has been undersealed. The inside is the original interior and appliances .
Since last summer it has been dry stored. Last month we got it out from hibernation
and took it to our local vintage VW expert in Glasgow who we have used for the last 15 years and they have checked over the cooling system, brakes, fluid changes and top ups along with a carburettor replacement and tune up so it starts great on the key. The MOT is due in June but as you can see
Here is a list of what's been done since the last MOT.
- Engine oil change
- new Oil filter, fuel filter
- new starter motor
- new wipers
- Brakes overhaul
- New hydraulic struts for the full size elevating roof (making it really east to ope and shut) new hydraulic struts for the rear door .
- Carburettor replaced and tuned
- New hoses for the cooling system
- New spark plugs.
It has a Sinc with electric tap , powered from the leasure battery taking its supply from the original blue portable water tank that you can pull to the nearest tap as it has wheels on the bottom. It also has a fully working fridge which works from the gas supply. There is the correct camping gaz size canister where it is meant to be housed which is full and there is a spare calor gas canister which we used on our trip last year. When the calor runs out it can be switched back to the original camping gaz one. There is a 2 ring gas hob with a grill that is fully working.
We are moving house and the new place doesn't have a garage or a decent space to dedicate to the van so sadly we are having to sell it on.
Things on my list to do next winter was to put on the step plate as you go through the sliding door (its included in the sale). Tidy up the interior, fix a couple of hinges,
new curtains (still original on), There is a untidy patch weld under the rear window passenger side that could benefit from popping the window out to finish it better if you were to be re trimming, it is cosmetic and can't be seen from inside the van as it is under trim. Fuel cap needs changed. A new diffuser cover for the interior light above the cooker.
This is a beautiful vintage camper in classic colours ready to go .
