Description

Royal Enfield New Bullet (Crusader 350) 1965.

After three years of trouble free motoring, post rebuild, I have decided to let my super rare NB go to a new home.

Why super rare? = Royal Enfield made one part-batch (a dozen out of 25, the rest went to the US in US spec) with the 'bath tub rear guard' this is the only surviving example that we know of (we being the New Bullet register of owners).

Additionally the correct 'Cambridge blue' colour was specified only for that model and only for the home market in that year. It came to me with a genuine 11k on the clock and I am the fifth keeper.

Along with Ray Tew I rebuilt this bike from the crank pin outwards. Everything necessary was done with a view to originality and maintaining the original finish where possible, such as the wheel rims. The 350 Crusader is geared 1mph higher than a GT 250 but the low compression (7. 5 - 1) allows it to have longer legs making gear changes are less frequent. The internal dimension (70 x 90mm) are the same as the older, semi-unit construction Bullets but the slightly lighter flywheels, to allow fitment into the Crusader cases, make the 'New Bullet' a slightly more revy and nippier machine. Please note that this is a 17inch wheels machine not 19inch like the older Bullet. As a result they feel slightly smaller. This example is a properly sorted machine.

If you are interested please call JD the details below. My price is firm and fair. The bike is advertised elsewhere so please don't call unless you intend to buy and please do so quickly as these models come up rarely and move on quickly. Cash on collection only please.
