Description

I have owned my car for nearly 5 years. In my ownership I have had all the mechanics overhauled and the car fully serviced in accordance with the manufacturers servicing schedule by an independent BMW specialist (the previous owner was a mechanic and did his own servicing). The work I have commissioned includes replacing both DSC stability controllers, replacing much of the suspension and braking systems. I also had all the sealant removed from the underside of the car and new sealant applied (having removed any and all rust - no welding was required). I have just had the underbody sealant re-applied as the first treatment wasn't done very well.

There was rust in the sills (standard issue) and in some neighbouring panels. I also found that some panels had suffered various degrees of damage and were poorly repaired. I have had every rusted or damaged panel either replaced or professionally repaired (mostly replaced including fitting brand new BMW OEM sills - £380 a pair) and treated the car to a full panel-off professional respray (including the hard top). All the inner panels were additionally treated to avoid future problems. I replaced some of the lights and badges and had the worn M Sport seats repaired with new bolster panels, new seat belt guides and the entire seats recoloured and reconditioned by an automotive interior specialist. The wheels didn't need to be refurbished.

I have an extensive file of invoices for all the work undertaken totalling well over £8, 500. 00 together with photographs of the rebuild. The car also has an original tonneau cover, windbreak and car cover. No expense has been spared on the work and the car now looks and drives superbly.

It recently received a new MOT (to April 2024) and had a full Inspection II BMW service costing over £800 including refreshing the underbody sealant. I've also just had the sump gasket replaced (another £300).

Sadly my priorities have changed as I need to have an operation later in the year and I will not be able to use my car afterwards for a couple of years. Therefore, if I don't find a new home for it this summer it will be in storage until 2025/ 6. I would rather the car be enjoyed by someone else.

When I insured the car in April 2022, Lancaster Insurance assessors independently reviewed the work undertaken and placed a valuation of £12, 500 on the car. This is the agreed valuation for Insurance purposes. When I renewed the Insurance in April 2023, given the additional work I had undertaken, they were happy to maintain that valuation. I have priced the car at less than this valuation because I just want it to find a good home and for someone to enjoy it as I had planned to do.

There is one possible downside of the car. The V5 records me as being the 10th owner. That's a lot of owners, even for a 23 year old car, but I bought the car from the previous owners in 2018 on the basis that they had owned the car since 2010. So, 10 owners in total, 8 over the first 10 years, 2 in the last 13.
