additional comment:
this car is being sold by the second owner who bought the car in munich in nov 1993. during this time, apart from occasional use in good weather, it has been kept covered and stored in a heated garage. The car has been regularly run to ensure the moving parts/ oil seals have not been allowed to deteriorate and it has recently been put back on the road. No problems have ensued and it is running perfectly.
this car was the first in the universally well known “zukunft/ future” series of bmw sports cars. They are all attractive in design and are now highly collectable. Although the z1 is now over 30 years old, and the pioneer of this series, it is in no way dated! Its attractive design has stood the test of time and it is still a particular “crowd pleaser.” it always attracts interest, and particularly so if you open one of the doors! The 170ps/ 2494cc, straight 6 cylinder engine, combined with the z1’s low body weight, makes for a hugely responsive car which handles beautifully yet can still be driven very comfortably at low speeds. It is believed that there are now only 50 or so of these cars in the uk. So, they are rare. But the combination of the galvanised chassis and the plastic body parts should ensure they retain their good looks for many years to come.
