The Mercedes 190 SL has a special history. After a suggestion from the American Mercedes importer, he has been kicked out of the ground in record time. As a cheaper and lighter alternative to the iconic Mercedes 300 SL. Mercedes uses the Mercedes 190 Ponton as the basis and in 1954 the prototype of the 190 SL is on the New York Motor Show. A year later, the production version is shown to the public in Geneva. The 190 SL is not marketed as a sports car, but as a comfortable, multifunctional two-seater. More than 25, 000 were sold between 1955 and 1963. The Mercedes 190 SL is now an expensive classic.
