For sale is my 280se. This car was imported from south africa in 2016 so is right hand drive. The interior is like new, and the chrome is all really good too. The car has recently had some welding done at the rear. Engine sounds great and the gear changes are smooth and it also has a new battrery.
there's an issue with the brakes that needs sorting before the car could be deemed roadworthy, so it will need to be trailered away and this is reflected in the price. I'd expect less than a day's labour for a mechanic to fully inspect the car and fix the brakes, so not much to do. The problem: Brakes are sticky, the car moves with a little bit of revs, but not completely freely. Im pretty sure that the handbrake is the culprit here, and by taking the back wheels off and freeing the pads, the problem would be solved provided the handbrake didnt get put on again - being automatic, it has a park gear position, so handbrake not essential, although to fix this properly may require some parts. I've not looked into doing this myself but if i did, i'd want more money for the car as it would be a driver.
the key i have for the car seems to only work in the ignition, it may well be the correct one for doors too, but if so, there is something wrong with the locking mechanism that needs addressing as the key won't turn in the door lock to unlock the door. All locks work when applied from inside the car.
i bought this car last year for £11000, and have spent £1500 on welding and £70 on a new battery. If it was roadworthy i’d look to recoup this spend.
