A car like the Saab 9000 appeals to so many senses, there are many good reasons for choosing it. Those of us who have lived with the Saab 9000 for so many years, could wax lyrical about its safety, comfort, interior space, road holding, engine technology, environmental performance and more. About its well designed details and those unique qualities which are so typical of Saab.
They could entertain you with exciting accounts about how Saab took 3 standard Saab 9000 turbos off the assembly line in 1986 and sent them to the Talladega race track in the USA to show off their outstanding operating reliability during 3 weeks of flat-out racing. The result; more than 100, 000 km per car and no less than 21 international speed records set. Back then, Saab were also extremely proud when Folksan - Sweeden's largest insurance company, awarded the Saab 9000 the ultimate accolade as the safest car on the market. Not just once, but 3 times by 1986.
This example, chassis no YS3CF65TXV1016721 was supplied new on August 20th 1997 by " Gordon Lamb of Sheffield ". The current registered keeper purchased the car during 2012 to add to his private collection and has merely covered 4000 miles since 2012. During those 10 years the Saab has been kept in a heated storage facility. These rare examples are much sought after by Saab Aficionados.
Externally, this 9000 CSE T (type) is finished in its original silver paintwork, which is in extremely good order with no traces of rust or scabbing etc. All body panels are straight and true, as is the colour keyed body-kit. The car is sitting on very good wheels and tyres with plenty tread. The bespoke " anniversary " badges/ logos remain on the front wings.
Internally, the car is consistent with its exterior. There are no tears, scuffs or unsightly marks. The aircraft inspired cockpit/ dashboard is excellent, with everything fully functional. The carpet and headlining, likewise excellent. The original wooden steering wheel is in perfect condition. The seats which are also " aircraft " embossed, are of black leather with suede inlays.
Underneath the Saab is clean with no traces of rust/ rot. It is rock solid !
The engine, engine bay and boot/ luggage compartment are all clean, uncluttered and original. The engine remains quiet, smooth, responsive and powerful. The same applies to the transmission and gear box. There are no issues or areas requiring attention.
History - the car comes with its original handbooks, including the service book which contains 16 service stamps, prior mot certificates and a printout of the car's mot history stretching back to 2006. there is also a Saab 9000 anniversary brochure in excellent condition.
A rare opportunity to enjoy and own a rare car in super condition aligned to a good investment opportunity. By 2021 only 12 Saab 9000 CSE T Anniversary cars remained registered for the UK roads. There are many good reasons to own a Saab, but you only need one - your own !
