Description
Royal Enfield 1951 G2 350cc Bullet unused for decades recently recommissioned.
As the last 'on the road' tax disc shows this had been unused for since 1979. The bike stood under blankets in a warm dry garage loved but untouched for over 40 years.
Since acquiring the Bullet I have rewired it, added a horn, and removed the top end for inspection. It was in remarkable condition showing only very minimal signs of use. The original pre-Monoblock carb required a clean as did the tank. Both were more than serviceable.
The cool bits, for me at least; the silencer is the original and very seldom seen oval body type and delivers a mellow note compared to latter models. 'Quite' in other words. This rare 51 example has the timing chest oil pressure release valve rather than the common external type. The crank breathes through the primary and vents onto the chain as per the original design. Even the mesh filters that sit behind the tappet cover are present! These filters usually gum up and are removed by owners in the early life of the bike. This pair are present and in excellent order. As you can see from the photos the bike wears it's original Terry's saddle, top comfort, behind which I have added a 70s tool bag.
Given that the swing-arm Bullet only became available to the public in 1949 this is a fine early example that shows strong links to the 'trials' origins of the model.
My £4000 price is firm but fair and the bike is advertised elsewhere so please be quick if you are interested. Many riders know just how sweet these 350 motors are so the bike will not be for sale for long. My price is for a 'cash on collection' sale. I will not courier the bike nor will I drop the price, PX or take PayPal or a cheque.
Thank you for looking and reading.
