Description
I am proudly offering for sale my 2004 Mercedes-Benz CL500. The car currently has around 119k miles and 5 owners.
I have owned this masterpiece of luxury motoring since last year in which time I have spent a sizeable fortune on providing every ounce of care and maintenance the car deserves, using genuine Mercedes parts and specialist technicians. To date, I have covered around 5000 miles of blissful, motorway miles in the car without a single issue. A testament to the level of maintenance that this car has received during my ownership and with previous owners. A relevant note considering the current economic climate is that I also consistently achieve around 36mpg on motorway runs in this car which is extremely respectable given the sheer quality of the luxury experience that this car provides on long-distance cruises. The car is also ULEZ compliant.
The unique selling point of this particular car is it’s specification. Whilst all CL500s left the factory with impressive specifications, this example is a cut above almost any other CL500 on the road today. The original owner of this vehicle equipped every possible optional extra on this car which is usually only seen on the V12 models.
Some of these optional extras include:
- Distronic – radar guided cruise control which works incredibly well and allows you to cover huge distances with ease as the feature enables the car to track vehicles ahead and adjust the speed of the vehicle automatically (an early form of autonomous driving you might say!)
- Extended, premium Nappa leather - This is probably the most impressive option on the car as it replaces the rather nasty grained leather with “proper”, soft Nappa leather which you have to see to understand how much of an upgrade it is over the standard leather. As part of this package, the leather is also extended to areas such as the rear parcel shelf resulting in every last inch of the interior being coated in beautiful, premium leather which smells amazing even to this day.
- Suede headlining - Again, this option is extremely rare on the 500 models but makes a huge difference to the overall luxurious feel of the interior. A large step above the carpet-like material that most Cl 500s have in their headlining.
- Electric rear blind
- Dynamic, massaging seats
- And many more
In terms of maintenance and servicing performed during my ownership, the bills sum to over £7000 and the list is longer than my arm but some of the highlights are listed below: (Also note that all work was carried out by well-known Mercedes specialist technicians using genuine Mercedes parts at great expense and all records/ invoices relating to this work is included with the car)
- Gearbox oil, filter and seal changed
- New ABC suspension shock absorber/ strut
- New ABC suspension dampers/ accumulator
- New ABC rods
- Full ABC service including oil, filter and “rodeo”
- New gearbox mounts
- New Bosch S5 battery
- Hunter 4-wheel alignment
- Major service including
- Engine oil
- Coolant
- Brake fluid
- Spark plugs (16 of them)
- Fuel filter
- Air filter
- Oil filter
- Rear brake discs and pads
- New Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres on the front (the rears are almost new Continental Premium Contact 6s)
Unlike almost every other Mercedes CL500 for sale right now, this car is 150% fully operational and thanks to the amount of work that has been carried out, this car has many years of hassle and cost-free motoring left in it.
Moving on to the cosmetic condition of the car, it is exceptional overall considering the age of the car.
The interior is pretty much immaculate. I regularly moisturize and condition the leather (a humorously big job on a car with this much leather in it!) and clean the suede with special products and brushes. The leather is unmarked, and I also purchased new, genuine carpets for the car which I have not used. I also have a set of rubber mats in the car at the moment in order to prevent the carpets from wearing out in the winter months.
The exterior is a similar story however, there is the odd imperfection if you look closely enough. As expected, there are minor marks (invisible from 1m+ away from the car) on some corner edges and a 10 pence size area of paint reaction formed on the right-side b-pillar which could be repaired for around £150 if you wanted to make the car perfect.
I have provided as many high quality photos as this website allows in the advert however, please feel free to contact me in case of any additional questions or requests of additional photos/ videos of the car.
