(New BREMBO DISCS AND PADS ALL ROUND October 2022)
This 911 is one of the lesser known limited edition 996's produced for the turn of the millennium and available only for the year 2000. Mine was delivered to it's first fortunate owner in late December 1999.
It's known therefore as the Millennium Edition and there were 911 produced for the world market - only 34 for the UK.
What was special about it? Most obvious to anyone looking at the car are the unique body colour and the wheels. MO30 suspension as standard; the 911 logo on rear engine lid; the medium tan leather upholstery with wood trim; and the plaque on the centre console indicating the number of the car (No. 98) within the nine hundred and eleven produced. Body colour is VIOLET CHROMAFLAIR ; wheels are 18" turbo twist powder coated chrome; the leather is a deep tan (extended to door cards/ dashboard etc).
In addition to the above exclusive items for the Millennium Edition model run, this car has aircon; xenons; headlamp wash; Radio/ cd changer; heated front seats; electrically adjustable front seats; cruise control; multi function computer display; tilt/ open sunroof; heated rear window; rear window wiper.
This car is high mileage at 150k BUT has a 9 month MoT (Mid March 2023) and the all important service history is complete - stamped service book (MD & Independent) ; invoices/ receipts right up to to date and the work evidenced includes IMS/ RMS attention, suspension renewal - most recently BRAKE DISCS AND PADS ALL ROUND OCT 2022, the front "coffin arms" , top mounts and "tuning forks", oil service, as well as new Michelin Pilot Sport tyres in the last 9 months, along with a regas of aircon. As with all high milers however (and lower mileage cars of a certain age) , there'll always be things to do.
Cosmetically the car looks very well, with the front/ rear bumpers being painted to freshen up along with door mirrors and fuel filler flap in March 2022. However it's not perfect. I'm being hyper critical of the car (friends say it's near mint - I say it's above average) so as not to mislead any interested parties by stating that the bodywork isn't perfect - the bonnet has stone chips; the panels have very slight age related scuff marks, a very small blistering on leading edge of roof and a very slight indent (seen in some light) on top of driver's door panel. Interior is in excellent shape with the usual, but definitely not shabby, "patina" for a 22 yr old car, though there is a small tear midway up on drivers seat bolster. All this being said, the car does still look very very well.
Despite the limited edition status, I'm realistic to know that the mileage won't put the car in the "super price collectible" realm, however it is still a rare car - there are only a couple more that I know of in the UK at the moment, and of course there should be 31 more! Low mileage examples have sold for in excess of £40k with some selling for nearly £70k on mainland Europe.
A change of plans and preferences means I would like to sell, although I don't need to and am in no rush to do so. The car is being used regularly so the mileage will increase slightly.
Respectfully I'd ask you not to contact me with silly offers or part exchange deals.
If you're genuinely interested in the car then please do get in touch. Thanks for looking at the advert.
