Welcome to sale of this Very Rare FlipPaint MINI Cooper.
At it’s core, it is a 2006 MINI Cooper, the last year of production for the R50 generation. This example is fitted with the automatic gearbox as well as many other optional extras, including Sat Nav and super rare electric folding mirrors, amongst many others.
The flip paint was a dealership option, available at great expense. The Quality of the paint job is second to none and it has stood the test of time, a testament to it’s high quality.
The car has done just over 80k miles and is presented in great condition. Unfortunately, due to the cost of the paint, it was rendered a Cat N by an insurance company for a dent on the boot. It won’t need paint, just needs pulling by somebody who knows what they’re doing. There is a small crack on one of the aero side skirts, which isn’t uncommon and could probably be sorted inexpensively, just not something I have the time to get sorted. The wheels could do with a refurb too, if you’re being anal. Besides that, the car is in flawless condition, wanting for no paintwork. It’s currently stored in my barn alongside some pricey metal, including a Ghostbusters Cadillac, however the MINI still gets attention from people admiring the gorgeous paint.
I recently had an glitch with the fan resistor sorted and now the car is running faultlessly. The engine is sweet and the gearbox is smooth. The service booklet is present and stamped, though the previous few owners self serviced and therefore I would describe the car as having part service history. I’ve had the car checked over by a good friend, a well known MINI specialist within the community, and he gave it a clean bill of health. I see no reason why it won’t pass its next MOT, due on the 21st October 2022.
I’m a first gen BMW MINI collector myself and will not let the car go to somebody who doesn’t appreciate it for what it is. I’m selling as I’ve just purchased another MINI which I’ve always wanted, however it needs serious attention. If you’re looking for a Very Rare example of an appreciating modern classic, that will turn heads wherever you go, then look no further.
A test drive will be conducted by myself unless proof of insurance can be given. I won’t accept group viewings, no more than 2 people. Buyers will be monitored by several CCTV Cameras from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave, to ensure no funny business goes unnoticed.
