Description
This delightful, charming Morris Minor Traveller has spent the last 36 years with three owners in villages between York and Harrogate. HDX 995F spent the late 1980’s with a lady in Nun Monkton and in 1989 sold to the local village Doctor. In 1998, nine years on the Morris sold requiring restoration to the last owner, who carried out a rolling shell restoration, and kept the Minor for 22 years in Little Ouseburn.
On purchase in 1998, the Morris was stripped down and completely rebuild from the ground up. Photographs show the Traveller having various new metal work prior to a full re-paint using Cellulose paint ensuring a very genuine 1960's original finish. Bright work was replaced, the woodwork replaced and the car re-trimmed.
Mechanically the Morris was treated to a re-conditioned engine and completely overhauled with the assistance of Morris Minor experts Tom Roy who supplied many new parts for the car. The Morris was built up to a high standard, particularly the engine bay which was highly detailed on completion of the restoration.
Since restoration the Morris has led a sheltered life, covering a few hundred miles per year in rural North Yorkshire. The car has covered several thousand miles since completion of the restoration and has arrived with us very well presented as a lovely, older restoration. HDX 995F has a strong, sweet engine, lovely gearbox and will be freshly serviced for its next owner. We will also be servicing the brakes due to lack of recent use. This is a lovely, honest car ideal for regular use, shows and events and offers excellent value.
