This Saab 9000 is mechanically just about perfect, having been comprehensively serviced and with a fresh 12 months MoT. Runs very well as you'd expect. New front discs and pads and the brake fluid has been flushed too. MoT to August 2023.
Inside, the headlining has been repaired and the door card trims replaced. The cloth seats are in great condition without any rips or tears. Heated seats working both sides. Electric windows all round all working ok, and a rudimentary trip computer shows average mpg and battery voltage. Central locking is working, though there is only one key. An aftermarket CD/ radio is fitted, with a 3. 5mm jack input if you want to listen to your phone.
The heating and ventilation system on these is a weak point, but I've repaired it and it's working well. The nearside mirror electric adjust doesn't work but I haven't investigated cause.
Externally the car could use some attention. The door bottoms are rusting and there is rust on the rear wheelarch. One of the rear mudflaps is missing, and the nearside front wing is damaged. The rear boot trim panel is wrapped in matt plastic.
I have found a source for replacement wing and doors - obviously they would need painting in the Saab 'Odoardograu' 204 colour but these are bolt-on parts.
Of course you could just drive and use this car as is, but it would be nice to restore it cosmetically. Unfortunately I need the space for an MG Maestro project and so the Saab needs to go. Like most 80s cars, these pre-facelift 9000s are getting rare and it's unusual to find a roadworthy one, let alone one so affordable.
