This car has been off the road for about 20 years. I recently saved it from someone's garden as it was going to go to the scrap man, a true barn find!
Ive done a lot of work cleaning it out and getting rid of 20 years of cobwebs.
The engine will crank but we have not put fuel in it to test, I am fairly sure it would run which is amazing.
There is a fair amount of rot underneath that needs welding.
The interior is pretty crusty but looks like it may clean up ok.
Unfortunately there is more welding required than I had hoped and after talking to the friends who were going to help me it may well be a bit too much for us to take on as I do not have a garage.
I am offering to fellow VW enthusiasts as I would like to see if there is anyone out there who has the ability to save it.
These 1. 3 cars are rare now because many of them have been broken up to save the bigger spec models. According to DVLA there are only 14 1990 1. 3 CL cars left either on the road or SORN in the UK!
Car obviously needs recovering.
I have Keys and Logbook has been sent off for.
