Rare 'Anniversary' model 1996 5 door Mark 3 Golf GTI, in Satin Silver Metallic. This is the 2 Litre 16 valve ABF engine car. (150bhp)
VW sent only 150 of the Limited Production, High Spec. 16V GTI Anniversary models to the UK (There were 750 of the 8 valve versions too) , celebrating 20 years of the GOLF GTI at the time.
Exterior is in generally above average order- both on top and underneath and features correct BBS Alloys (refurbished) with 215/ 40/ R16 Event Potentem tyres , Tailgate spoiler, Electric door mirrors, Foglamps , Red GTi side stipes and red calipers. Electric slide/ tilt sunroof.
some age related scuffs etc., but is in generally good appearance.
Interior: Anniversary Chequered sport front seats, Leather steering wheel with red stitching, Red seat belts, red edged mats , half chromed golf ball gear knob , red handbrake knob and stitching to gaiter. white Instrument dials, airbags for driver and front passenger.
Air conditioning and electric sunroof as standard.
New Blaupunkt DAB period style radio/ cd includes Bluetooth.
Service booklet (11 VW stamps), and there are various independent service/ parts invoices thereafter. MOT till Sept 2023 and advisories from last MOT have been dealt with (cost £336, receipts on file ). MOT certificates back to yr 2000.
There has been a quite a lot of work and attention given to the car by the previous owner , which he has provided paperwork for and this has continued under my ownership and some of the work includes;
New Clutch and Timing belt and V belts
Cylinder Head Overhaul and water pump replaced , crankshaft oil seal and sensor , coolant sensor ,
New Alternator and Battery , replacement PAS reservoir, recent oil change and new air and cabin filters.
New Rear Shock Absorbers , New track rods, CV boot. Air conditioning refurbished with new dryer and pressure switch and re-gassed.
Overall, a very clean example of a rare and appreciating modern classic.
