Description
A unique opportunity and rare find! I bought this to restore or customise and its just way too nice and needs passing to someone who will cherish it as it is, iron out any foibles discovered in use and bask in its amazing patina.
First registered April 15th 1965, this beautiful UK model Royal Enfield Interceptor Mk1 is in its original condition, showing 31142 miles (no way of proving but likely to be correct), unrestored and with quite a nice history. Its original owner used it for touring up until the early 80's then stored it as family and life took over. Some time in the 2000's it was sold and the new (2nd) owner recommissioned it, refurbishing but not restoring (thank goodness) and got it back on the road. The mudguards, the frame, the tank, the seat, the clocks, even the accessory Stadium (Made in England) bar end mirror with its faded glass - everything is exactly as it was. According to the owners club, the engine and frame numbers tally up it was supplied to a dealer in late 1964, the paperwork supplied with the bike shows it was soled in April 1965. Its had a sensible couple of mods: Electronic ignition and charging and refreshed carbs. The original Mag and the crash guards come with the bike.
I've ridden around locally and to a local event and its great fun.
Its got the kind of patina that only comes with age and they are only this original once! Obviously tax and MoT exempt. A lot of the history is available online - if you go to - details above
Close offers welcome.
Happy to WhatsApp a video of it starting and riding etc.
