The Li ‘Slimstyle range’ or Series 3 first appeared in December 1961 and replaced the series 2 which had been the biggest selling Lambretta range to date. With completely revised bodywork, lower rear shock and engine improvements that helped fuel economy and overall usability. The carburettor was revised with a needless float and the electrics moved to 6 pole for further reliability. The design was extremely popular and ran for almost 6 years until production of the Li125 series 3 ended in November 1967.
This example was sold new by Albany Motorcycles of Coventry and she has always stayed in the midlands. The current owner has owned it for 30 years. Restored by the current owner to a high standard in a silver/ blue combination over 20 years ago she has been stored in a dry garage and well maintained but seldom used ever since. The scooter was stripped to bare metal and treated to a quality paint coating. The engine was professionally overhauled by K&S scooters of Derby as a completely standard 125 with a rebore, new clutch and chain and chain tensioner all other parts were re-used. She has had a replacement speedometer and a key ignition switch were added. The old speedometer showing 16, 700 miles (pre-restoration) and original stop switch are supplied with the scooter. She has a desirable 6 digit registration number.
