The car was purchased by my friend's father as a retirement present to himself in 2002. He doted on it until he became too unwell to drive anymore now he's in his 80s.
The pictures speak for themselves in terms of the quality of this vehicle.
I have recently spent over a thousand pounds in getting the following done:
Timing belt,
new spark plugs,
water pump,
coolant change;
cam seals,
rocker cover gasket,
some paint correction,
headlight refurb,
two new tyres (as of today!)
This car gets positive attention wherever it goes - it is totally stock and factory fresh; the fact that I've had all seals replaced means this thing is oil tight; not a single drip escapes. Not a single change to it since it left the factory. No silly exhaust, no silly dump valve, no silly big turbo, this is as fresh as it when it left the Subaru factory; it even maintains the original cassette player (should you still own any!)
It comes with stacks and stacks of receipts, a whole lever arch full of them, including the original bill of purchase, owners handbook, every MOT and the service book with Subaru stamps, the original tool kit in its little Subaru bag etc.
The slightly higher price compared to others on here reflects the higher quality. Only just ticked over to 80000 miles. One previous owner. What's not to like? (OK, there is the slightest of signs of wear on the driver's seat and the aircon needs gassing...)
